What are we about

International team of scientists

International team of scientists

We are an international team of scientists and specialists from Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy, University of Latvia, Medical University of Vienna and Finnish Meteorological Institute, working in the aerobiology field.

Years of research and experience

Years of research and experience

We have investigated and analyzed the dispersion of air allergens (mainly pollen) and its impact on health for more than 10 years. Working together, we have developed a unique Personalized Allergy Symptoms Forecasting System (PASYFO).

Global recognition

Global recognition

This system is included in the services of The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS).

Voluntary participation

Voluntary participation

The activities of PASYFO require voluntary participation of persons affected by allergy. This is a great opportunity for everyone to contribute to scientific research and to participate in the development of innovative science products.

International network

Our responsibilities

Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy
Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy

We coordinated the pollen research network in Lithuania since 2003. Research methods meet the highest European standards, and specialists have international certificates confirming the specialist’s competence. During the period, both scientific research was conducted, and information dissemination events and trainings were organised.

The Medical University of Vienna
The Medical University of Vienna

Coordinates the Pollen Diary, which is designed to relate persons’ daily allergy symptoms to the amount of pollen in the air. The team of scientists and researchers manages the European pollen and fungal spore database (EAN database), which is used for clinical research and simulation of pollen transport and spread forecasts.

Finnish Meteorological Institute
Finnish Meteorological Institute

Developed a System for Integrated Modelling of Atmospheric Composition (SILAM). It is applied in programmes for global and medium scale air quality assessment and emergency responses as well as addressing the problem of inverse dispersion. The model is adapted for forecasting allergenic pollen dispersal in Europe.

Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service
Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service

The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) provides continuous data and information on atmospheric composition. CAMS delivers the following operational services: daily production of near-real-time analyses and forecasts of global atmospheric composition; reanalyses providing consistent multi-annual global datasets of atmospheric composition with a frozen model/assimilation system; daily production of near-real-time European air quality analyses and forecasts with a multi-model ensemble system etc.
